ECO A Big One for Bisbee Record Book

This year, ECO had a great turnout, best fishing and the first time in the history of the event that qualifying marlin over 300 pounds were weighed all three days.

Don’t miss the remaining Los Cabos Offshore, October 19 - 22, 2017 and Black & Blue, October 24 - 28, 2017. Hope we see all of you there.

In closing, Bisbee thanked the Valdez Family of Hotel Buenavista Beach Resort for their help and hospitality adding that the dates for next year are July 31-August 4, 2018.

Meanwhile, a mere seven minutes later, Team Tag Team’s Hunter Heryford arrived at the scale with a 39-pound dorado that would be the largest of the tournament thus far, though they were not in the “Gamefish Division.” Heryford managed to lure it in on a “Zucker” black and purple in a click under 30-minutes, their only bite of the day.

It was a fitting end to the 36th annual Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Jackpot Tournament. The SoCal team aboard C-Bandit was the last to the scales Friday night with a solid contender definitely in tow. Russ Armstrong was on the rod when a black marlin ate a live 12-pound yellowfin tuna near Vinorama right at noon. Even though it stayed down at first, Armstrong suspected it was a good fish. As he applied more drag, the black came alive and started leaping out of the water 200 feet behind the transom.
