Hi-5 LuresBisbee's Sports Store is pleased to offer a select line of Hi-5 lures. These lures have been used by some of the most successful fishing teams in the world, and are considered some of the friendliest lures around by both professional mates and captains.

All Hi-5 lures exhibit a consistent and predictive trolling motion. Their extreme stability and motion ranges are due to ballasting, as opposed to balancing, and face and body shape.

These lures are hand-made in Cabo, and the Bisbee's Online Store is the only way to purchase them outside of Cabo or directly from the manufacturer.

Hi-5 Lure Tutorial

Ballasting is where more weight is below the centerline than above which maintains the lure in a normal bait like mode where the top is always up, the belly down, and the eyes are more or less horizontal. Rough water and wind may make the lures rock and roll a little, but they return to normal in short order.

The lure's face and body shape are also major factors in determining motion and action, which determines where and when to use certain lures.
Hi-5 Trolling Lure Head Shapes

1. Kona Dodgers are traditional Hawaiian-style lures with a slant face designed to run mostly straight with a narrow range of side-to-side action. The most versatile lure, runs short or long, from flat-line or riggers.

2. Straight Runners have flat faces and produce a popping, straight motion slightly above and below the surface. Runs short or long as an easy target.

3. The Cabo Shaker is one of Hi-5's most unique shapes and has a slant face (like a Kona Dodger) with a reverse taper along the head that changes the water plane velocity over the surface of the lure. This unique head shape creates stability and adds a vibrating, shaking action as well as a dodging action. Runs in any position.

4. Smokers have a cup/concave face and produce the most resistence on the trolling line. They tend to run a considerable time sub-surface. Smokers also trap air when they surface and then release the air as tiny bubbles or "smoke trails" when the lure goes sub-surface. These lures are the most stable of the selection and excel in rough conditions. Runs well in any position.

5. Swimmers have scoop faces and produce a side-to-side and diving action. Best when used on the long lines and outriggers.
