OCTOBER 3, 2008
Hello to everyone,
The Black & Blue is just a few short weeks away, and I have a lot of updates for you, but first of all I want to welcome our newest sponsor Las Villas de Mexico. Las Villas will be joining Snell Real Estate as a Presenting Sponsor and we are proud to welcome them aboard!
- we'll be closing the Bisbee On-Line Store from October 10th through November 3rd, but there's still time to order Hi-5 Lures. Remember, it was a Hi-5 lure that caught the winning marlin worth $1.3 million during the 25th Anniversary Black & Blue!
Now for the tournament updates.
In the Los Cabos Offshore the points for released billfish have changed. In the Black & Blue the points have changed and only black and blue marlin will count for release points. You can view the complete rules change on-line (Rule #13 and #18) at www.bisbees.com/Local/tournaments/rulesTournamentEN.htm.
We will no longer be charging late fees on the optional daily jackpots in the Black & Blue (we have never charged late fees in the Los Cabos Offshore). However, there is still a 10% late fee on the tournament entry if you wait until the day of registration to enter (October 21st).
Our Tournament Office in Cabo will open on October 15th. The office is at the Cabo Villas Beach Resort, Room #510, and the number (MX cell phone) is 624-160-3170. You can stop by the office to enter early and avoid paying the late fee on your entry.
As always, cash, travelers checks and cashiers checks made payable to Bisbee's Black & Blue Tournaments are the ONLY form of payment accepted on-site during registration. PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS OR TO WAIVE THE LATE FEE DURING REGISTRATION.
That's it for now. I'll send another eBlast next week to give you any last minute information and update you on the Bisbee's Bluewater C.U.P. standings. We'll also be posting updates on our website www.bisbees.com.
It's shaping up to be a great year, despite what you read in the news. Jane Wells over at CNBC has a great take on it. Read her blog about the relative merits of investing in the stock market as opposed to going fishing (Maybe You Oughtta Go Fishing). Makes sense to me!
See you in Cabo!
