Hello to everyone,
Our 2007 tournament season is now upon us, and I just wanted to take a minute to welcome all of you who'll be joining us at our first tournament of the year, the Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament brought to you by the crew at Snell Real Estate and the Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort. The fishing off the East Cape has been good these past weeks, and it'll be great to see you there. Entries at this point have just passed last year's levels on this date. For those of you not joining us, we'll be updating the web-site throughout each day of the tournament, so log on to www.bisbees.com to follow the action.
This event is also the first tournament of this year's new Bisbee's Bluewater C.U.P. Series. We have five more qualifying tournaments in this year's CUP Series, three of which are in Catalina Island and two in Los Cabos. If you fish in any of these six qualifying tournaments, you're automatically enrolled in the CUP Series, and we'll be tracking your angling successes at each event. The top 10 points earning teams will be invited to participate in the Bisbee's Bluewater CUP Championship Tournament being held in Cabo San Lucas November 29th through December 2nd where "THE Champions of Billfishing" will be crowned. Our CUP Series sponsors are Body Glove, Contender Boats, Eastern Pacific Yacht Club (EPYC), Monaco Financial and Snell Real Estate. Jumping down to Cabo, we're now in the last week or so for the Early Bird Entries. The deadline to be entered into the Early Bird Drawing is August 1st, so if you know you're going to be with us, get your base entry fee in now for your chance to fish next year for free!
The dates for our two tournaments in Cabo are:
October 19-21 for the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament
October 23-27 for the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament
All functions for the Los Cabos Tournament will take place at the Cabo Villas Beach Resort and the Baja Cantina Beach Club. And remember—this year there's a $150 late fee for teams waiting until the day of registration to sign up for the Los Cabos Offshore. There is also a late fee of 10% added to all entry categories, except for the $5,000 and $10,000 Dailies, in the Black & Blue for teams signing up after October 1st.
We have an awesome addition to the Black & Blue's kick-off party this year—Body Glove decided to spice up the evening big time by bringing in the Brian Flynn Band. These guys flat out ROCK! All of the band's members have toured or been part of some of the biggest bands of the past few decades including Lynard Skynard, Blackfoot, Patti Labelle & Robert Palmer. This will be a spectacular evening of music! Thanks mucho Body Glove!
In this year's Black & Blue we will once again have the following Optional Daily Jackpot entry levels:
• The Baja Cantina $200 Daily,
• Viking/Crows Nest $500 Daily,
• Knight & Carver $1,000 Daily,
• Dockwise Yacht Transport $2,000 Daily,
• Bertram/MarineMax $5,000 Daily,
• Body Glove $10,000 Daily and the
• Contender Boats All-Release Division
This means that once again we'll see over $1,000,000 per day up for grabs!
