Hello to everyone,

Welcome once again to Bisbee's Black & Blue and Bisbee's Baja Offshore Tournaments, all of which are all presented in part by Chris Snell and Snell Real Estate who exclusively represent the finest and most sought after properties in Los Cabos including Palmilla Properties, Oasis Palmilla, Villas Del Mar, Cabo Del Sol and Punta Ballena and also by Platinum Capital International, who now offer long term mortgage financing in Cabo's traditionally cash-only market.

I know it's been a while since our last eBlast, so I'll get right into what's been going on.

First, with the East Cape Offshore Tournament just around the corner, I want to remind those of you planning to join us that we'll need to have your check in our mailbox by Friday, July 21st, and wire transfers must be received by Friday, July 28th. After these dates, we'll be happy to receive your cash on registration day. The fishing in the area has been very consistent this summer and should provide some great fun for those of you looking to kick off your '06 tournament season with an August win. This year looks like it will once again be a milestone year for the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, with purses surpassing any mark we've ever seen. Our traditional Daily Jackpot levels: the Bisbee's Baja Tackle $200 Daily, the Baja Cantina $500 Daily, the Knight & Carver $1,000 Daily, the Dockwise Yacht Transport $2,000 Daily and the Bertram/MarineMax $5,000 Daily combined with the introduction of the Worldwide Aviation $10,000 Daily means that a $1 million dollar daily purse is no longer out of reach! And to answer THE question on many of your minds, YES, we do have teams already entered in the $10k level. Four to be exact, which is just about where the $5K Daily Jackpot (added in 2005) was on this date last year… and we all know where that went — 84 teams signed up!

Other additions to the entry levels this year include optional Daily Jackpots for the gamefish categories in the East Cape and Los Cabos Offshore Tournaments. We’re also pleased to announce that the Release Division in the Black & Blue is now the Capella Pedregal Release Division. The Pete Lopiccola Billfish Tournament will again run concurrently with the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament. You can conveniently register for both at the same time on October 20th at the Baja Cantina Dockside Restaurant. Over $1 million in funds have been raised in Pete's name during the past two decades, making it the largest charity recipient in Los Cabos history. All of the proceeds from your $200 per angler entry fee goes to the City of Hope for cancer and leukemia research and other very notable charities.

Well, aside from reminding you to shift from fishing mode into golfing mode on Saturday, October 28th for the Bisbee's Los Cabos Open Golf Championship, it's time to say thank you again for your interest in our tournaments, and we hope to see you this year in Baja!
