| February 2005
First of all, we hope you are all having a great 2005 kick-off!
This is our first update for this year's Bisbee's Tournaments which are also brought to you by Snell Real Estate and our other great Sponsors. As it's our 25th Anniversary in Cabo, we're knee deep in creating our most memorable events ever and we'll be filling you in throughout the year as we nail down details.
So, lets get to it. Please read on to find out about our:
- Schedule of events.
- Early Bird Entry drawing where once again you can have a chance to fish this year for free.
- Information on this year's "Bisbee's Express" by Dockwise Yacht Transport.
- AND… A NEW "MUCHO MACHO" Daily Entry Category for the Black & Blue. This one is not for the faint of heart!
Before getting into all of this, we must first offer congratulations to the 2004 Black & Blue's overall winning team of the REEL PAIN II, captained by Bryan Haslam of San Diego, CA who helped anglers David Smith (448 lb. blue) and Russ McGregor (418 lb. blue) both from San Diego, CA, along with fellow team mates Eugene Smith, Frank Davis, Bill Walsh, Greg Hauck and Marlin Parker earn $1,126,510.00!
The same goes to our top individual angler Martha Warlaumont from Balboa, CA with her 645 lb. blue onboard her 61'Viking Sportfisher RETRIEVER. The boat was captained by Cabo's Enrique Villanueva and earned $724,330.00.
SCHEDULE
The 2005 Black & Blue will be held October 25th-29th (fishing days 26th, 27th & 28th). The Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore Tournament will be held October 21st-23rd.
The Bisbee's Buenavista (East Cape) Offshore Tournament will be on August 2nd – 6th (fishing days 3rd, 4th, & 5th). It will be hosted again by the Chuy Valdez and his family at their beautiful Buenavista Beach Resort. Boat and hotel reservations can be made by calling (800) 752-3555 or contacting the hotel direct at http://www.hotelbuenavista.com/.
For those of you bringing your own boats, there will be plenty of fuel and room directly in front of the resort to anchor and moor. They've even doubled up on the water taxi service.
EARLY BIRD ENTRY Drawing
Congratulations to the 2004 Early Bird winner "Dorado III" and Scott Jolcover. We will again be offering an "Early Bird" drawing this year between all of the teams that have entered by August 1, 2005. The drawing's winning team gets their $5,000.00 entry fee back. The same is possible for all of the Baja Offshore Circuit tournaments where the team entry of $1,200. will be returned to the winner. We will be drawing the Early Bird winner at each Awards Banquet. Remember, for every month prior to the event that you enter, you will receive an additional "chip" that will be placed into the drawing. So, if you enter the Black & Blue for example, in February, (7 months prior to the 8/1/05 deadline) your name will be entered into the drawing 7 times versus just one! The earlier you get your entry in, the more chances you will have to fish for FREE.
SHIP YOUR BOAT FROM FLORIDA ON THE "BISBEE'S EXPRESS"
For those of you on the East Coast, who would like to fish our tournaments with your own boat and crew, Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) will be loading yachts onto the Bisbee's Express in So. "MUCHO MACHO" Daily Entry Category
Well, after mucho pressure from lots of you we've decided to add yet another Daily Entry Category to this year's Black & Blue, here it is; the $5,000 per day/per team!
Yes this is a big one, but many of you have been hammering us for quite a while to add it, and given that this is our 25th, what better time to see if we can get close to that $3 million total purse category.
For any additional information and 2005 applications, please give Tricia a call at (714) 556-2281, e-mail her at tricia@bisbees.com or visit http://www.bisbees.com/. We thank you for your participation and look forward to being with you in Los Cabos and Buenavista!
