This year's Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament, also presented by Snell Real Estate, was completed on August 7th where 42 boats competed for $181,620.00 in prize money. Held for the first time at the Valdez Family's Buena Vista Beach Resort, anglers released a total of 72 billfish in the three-day event, with over 150 hook ups being recorded by radio control.
When it was all said and done, the father and son team of Robert and Kyle Manroe from Rancho Santa Fe, California earned top marlin honors with a 386 lb. blue marlin onboard their KW's KARMA earning them $140,204.48. The 2nd place marlin was onboard "EL BORRACHO" with yet another father and son team of Tony Talamante and Tony Jr. of La Paz, BCS. They won $27,303.52 for a 304 lb. blue marlin.

Richardson caught the impressive yellowfin that tipped the scales at 197.7 lbs. in 21 minutes onboard Shedore's 48' Riviera, ON-SITE. 44.9 pounds was the size of the tournament's biggest dorado and was caught by 12 year old Jonathan King while fishing with Debbie King and Steve Wright. Don't Forget the EARLY BIRD ENTRY DRAWING:
The entry fees for the Black & Blue will remain the same at $5,000 per team, and $2,000 per team for the Release Division, with the optional "Daily Jackpot" categories being $200 per day, and/or $500 per day, and/or $1,000 per day, and/or $2,000 per day. We're again offering an "Early Bird" drawing between all of the teams that have entered by August 1, 2004. The drawing's winning team gets their $5,000 entry fee back. The same is possible for all of the Baja Offshore Circuit tournaments where the team entry of $1,200 will be returned to the winner of the drawing. We will be drawing the Early Bird winner at each Awards Banquet. Remember, for every month prior to the event that you enter, you will receive an additional "chip" that will be placed into the drawing. For example, if you enter the Black & Blue in February, (7 months prior to the 8/1/04 deadline) your name will be entered into the drawing 7 times versus just one! The earlier you get your entry in, the more chances you will have to fish for FREE.
Thank you once again for being part of our events. We look forward to seeing you!
